“Take a risk, lean in, and ask for help. Our job as pelvic health PTs is to support you, empower you, and help you build a community around your wellness.”

My name is Lisa Tan, Doctor of Physical Therapy. I believe that everyone should be able to learn and talk about their pelvic floor without shame and have access to pelvic health care.

Enlighten PT is pleased to have pelvic health extraordinaire, Dr. Lisa Tan, on our team! She has extensive experience in both pelvic health and wound care. She worked for many years at University of Southern California where she also received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Dr. Lisa offers a unique perspective to our patients of all types, but especially those dealing with scars, healing incision sites, or other pelvic surgeries (including cystectomy with neo-bladder and prostectomy).

A note from Lisa:
”I love helping people learn about their pelvic floor/health and empowering them to understand that peeing, pooping, and having sex are all normal parts of life (and you shouldn't feel ashamed to talk about it!) I want people to know that it's common to leak after birthing a baby, but that doesn't mean you have to live with it the rest of your life! If you haven't had a baby and you're leaking, that's something we can treat! If you're having pain during sex, that's NOT normal and there's a way to fix it! Having my own history of pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain, I incorporate a holistic approach of focusing on the body and mind to promote wellness. I am grateful for the opportunity to help people improve their confidence and function with pelvic health and strive towards creating a new standard of pelvic health care.

A little fun fact about me: I specialize in both pelvic health and wound care so the things that might make someone squeamish are what I love to treat! When I'm not working on pelvises or wounds, you'll find me traveling, enjoying delicious food, or spoiling my senior dog with treats.”
